A Community Coming Together for Halton Haven Hospice
In a heart warming display of generosity, local businesses and contractors have united to support the refurbishment of Halton Haven Hospice’s lounge in a truly remarkable way. With open hands and hearts, many have freely given their time, skills, and resources to help refurbish the lounge, which will create a modern, welcoming and comfortable space, complete with a modern new media wall, for patients, families, and staff alike.
As our chosen charity for the year, Halton Housing committed to overseeing and resourcing the refurbishment, but what began as a call for help from local tradespeople and businesses has quickly blossomed into a wave of kindness. From tradespeople offering their expertise, to shops donating furnishings and paint, every contribution will play a vital part in this transformation.
The refurbished lounge will for years to come, stand as a shining example of what can be achieved when a community rallies together. It is more than just a room - it is a symbol of care, compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves comfort and dignity.
Jointly, Halton Housing and Halton Haven Hospice are grateful to each and every business that has stepped forward. Their generosity will not only brighten the lounge at the hospice but is also a reminder of the extraordinary power of community spirit.
Karen Allen, CEO at Halton Haven Hospice says: “As a hospice, we are always striving to improve our patient and family experience, ensuring we provide the best care to people within the Halton community who need us. This renovation will help to provide more welcoming and usable spaces so that families and patients can spend quality time together and relax. During the renovation, ensuring the care and safety of our patients, staff and service users is our top priority. Robust plans have been put in place to ensure every patient still receives the care they deserve during this time. We are so excited for the difference this will make to our patient and family experience going into 2026 and we hope you can join us in our excitement. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped make this possible.”
Sam Scott, Group Chief Executive at Halton Housing added: “Halton Haven Hospice being our nominated charity for 2025/26 reflects something that matters deeply to us – supporting the people and communities we serve when they need it most. This project perfectly demonstrates the power of partnership and community spirit. We’ve been incredibly proud to work alongside Halton Haven and to see so many local businesses give their time, skills and resources so generously. Together, we’re helping to create a space that offers comfort, dignity and warmth for patients, families and staff, and that is something we can all be proud of.”
Joe Clark, a Halton Housing Electrician who supported electrical aspects of the refurb said: “After the amazing care Halton Haven gave my Nana in the brief time she was there, I wanted to give back as a way of saying thank you —on behalf of my whole family.”
