We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Crofts as our new Board Chair.

The appointment follows a thorough and rigorous recruitment and assessment process, which placed a strong emphasis on values, behaviours and technical expertise. Approved by our Board, Nick will serve an initial three-year term.

Nick succeeds Clive Deadman, who will retire from the role at the end of September after seven years as our Chair.

Sam Scott, our Chief Executive, said:

"I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to Nick Crofts as our new Chair. Nick brings a wealth of leadership experience, and I look forward to working closely with him as Halton Housing continues to deliver on our commitment to supporting our customers, communities and colleagues. I'd also like to thank Clive Deadman for his support, leadership and commitment over the last seven years."

"It has been a privilege and an honour to serve Halton Housing and its communities these last few years. Over this time the organisation has achieved so much however there is so much more we can and must do. I am delighted to hand over to Nick Crofts, whose experience and fresh ideas will help guide us through the next exciting period of challenge and opportunity."

Nick will take up the position on 1st October 2026 and will lead our Board as we continue our mission to Improve People's Lives through quality homes, services and support for local communities.
