Halton Housing customer awarded Northern Housing Consortium Unlocking Success Bursary
A Halton Housing customer has been awarded funding through the Northern Housing Consortium's Unlocking Success Bursary programme to support their continued education and future career aspirations.
The customer, who is currently studying a Level 3 Diploma in Counselling at Riverside College, has received £500 in funding to complete Reiki Level 1 and Reiki Level 2 training with a local provider in Widnes. The first stage of the training will begin in September.
Having faced a number of personal and professional challenges in recent years, the customer decided to pursue a new path focused on helping others. Through their counselling studies, they developed a passion for supporting people with their wellbeing and are now working towards a future career that combines counselling and holistic therapies. The bursary funding will help remove financial barriers to training and allow the customer to gain additional qualifications alongside their existing studies, bringing them closer to achieving their long-term goals.
Georgina Crank, Social Impact and Engagement Officer at Halton Housing, said:
"We're delighted to see another customer benefit from the Northern Housing Consortium's Unlocking Success Bursary programme. This customer has shown real resilience and determination in pursuing a new career direction while balancing the demands of family life. The funding will help them continue developing their skills and qualifications, creating new opportunities for the future. We wish them every success as they begin their Reiki training and continue their counselling studies."
The Northern Housing Consortium's Unlocking Success Bursary programme provides financial support to social housing residents across the North, helping them access education, training and development opportunities that can improve employment prospects and support personal growth.
Halton Housing would like to thank the Northern Housing Consortium for their continued investment in residents and for creating opportunities that help people develop new skills, achieve their ambitions and build brighter futures. For this customer, the bursary represents another important step towards building a career dedicated to supporting others and giving back to the local community.
