Halton Housing Electrician Recognised in National 30 Under 30 Awards
One of our talented electricians has been recognised among the UK’s top rising stars in the electrical industry after winning a place in the eFIXX 30 Under 30 Awards 2026.
Jamie Macdonald was named as one of just 30 winners nationwide in the prestigious annual programme, which celebrates outstanding individuals under the age of 30 who are making exceptional contributions to the electrical sector.
The awards highlight emerging talent in electrical contracting, recognising those who demonstrate dedication, resilience and a commitment to professional excellence.
Jamie received his award at a ceremony hosted by Doncaster Cables, where he was joined by Halton Housing’s Mechanical and Electrical Manager Manager, John Mercer. The event also included a tour of the facility — the largest cable manufacturer in the UK — offering insight into the industry’s focus on quality, safety, reliability and trust.
Jamie was nominated by his Riverside College lecturer, Chris Horne who praised his commitment to electrical installation within social housing. His achievements include completing his NVQ six months ahead of schedule with distinction, gaining advanced qualifications in testing and inspection, and supporting fellow learners throughout his training.
In addition to his technical ability, Jamie was recognised for his professionalism, empathy and strong customer focus — all key qualities in delivering high-quality services to residents.
John Mercer, M&E Manager at Halton Housing, said: “Jamie’s dedication and attitude have been exceptional from day one. He consistently demonstrates a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to delivering the highest standards for our customers. This award is thoroughly deserved, and it’s fantastic to see his hard work recognised at a national level.”
Jamie’s success reflects both his personal drive and the strength of talent within Halton Housing’s workforce.
Congratulations to Jamie on this well-deserved achievement.
