Great news for local groups and community champions: our Helping Hands Fund is now open for applications.

If you’re working on a project that brings people together, brightens up shared spaces, or simply makes life a little better for those around you, this fund is here to help. It’s designed to give community‑led ideas a boost, whether they’re brand new or ready to grow.

We offer three levels of funding, ranging from £100 up to £2,000, so you can apply for the amount that best fits the size and needs of your project. Smaller grants are ideal for one‑off activities or essential costs, while higher levels can support larger or more sustained community initiatives. Each level has its own simple requirements once your project is complete, helping us understand the impact you’ve made and how the funding has supported your community.

Through our Helping Hands we've been able to support all sorts of brilliant local initiatives over the years. Some have been small and simple, others more ambitious, but each one has made a genuine difference. The fund has helped communities create welcoming places, run activities that bring people together, and support those who need it most. It’s the kind of impact that adds up over time, and we’re proud to continue backing the people who make things happen.

Helping Hands supports our commitment to creating Thriving Communities, one of the key priorities in Our Future Focus 25–28. We want to help create places where people feel connected, supported, and able to get involved - and Helping Hands is one of the ways we do that.

If you’ve got an idea that would benefit your community, we’d love to hear from you. Full details on how to apply, including eligibility and deadlines can be found here Helping Hands | Halton Housing
