When Upton Community Pantry opened in 2023, it created a welcoming space where local people could access affordable food and practical support when it’s needed most.

Halton Housing has continued to play a part in that support ever since, providing regular food donations throughout the year. With around £1,000 worth of supplies delivered annually, these contributions help keep the shelves stocked and ensure there’s always a good range of items available.

This ongoing support reflects one of the key priorities in Our Future Focus 2025–2028: Thriving Communities. By working alongside local partners like Upton Community Pantry, we’re helping to build stronger, more resilient neighbourhoods where people feel supported and able to access the help they need.

This consistent support also helps the pantry run smoothly week to week, making sure people can rely on the service when they need it.

By working together in this way, we're helping Upton Pantry remain open, accessible and ready to support local households facing the cost of living challenges.

Upton Community Pantry is open to anyone who needs a bit of extra help with food. There’s no need to sign up, get a referral or answer any questions - people can simply drop in during opening times and use the service. This open approach removes barriers and makes it easier for people to get support quickly and with dignity.
