Join Us in Your Community with Walkabouts and Community Hubs
Would you like the chance to chat to us in person or show us what’s happening in your community? Through our walkabouts and Community Hubs, we offer regular opportunities for customers to meet us face to face in their local area.
Our Neighbourhoods Team runs walkabouts across our communities, and customers are always welcome to come along. Walkabouts give us the chance to get out and about, look at the areas around our homes, and spot anything that might need attention.
This can include repairs to shared areas, general maintenance issues, fly tipping or rubbish, and other concerns about the estate.
Walkabouts are led by our Neighbourhoods Team and supported by colleagues from across Halton Housing, including repairs and maintenance and investment. Walking the area together helps us see issues first hand, talk them through, and agree what needs to happen next.
They are also a great opportunity for you to speak directly with us. You can talk to your Neighbourhood Officer or other team members about your home, your tenancy, or anything happening where you live.
We have recently reviewed how our walkabouts work to make sure they reflect our priorities and our commitment to building Thriving Communities. With support from our Insights Team, we now take a data led approach, helping us focus on areas where the need is greatest.
This includes things like stock condition, disrepair, access issues, anti social behaviour, fly tipping, communal area concerns, and customer feedback. To keep this work focused and effective, we now run ten walkabouts each year so we can spend more time where it matters most.
Alongside walkabouts, we also run Community Hubs, giving customers even more chances to speak to us in person. These are friendly, local drop in sessions held in community locations. No appointment is needed and everyone is welcome.
At a Community Hub, you can talk to us about anything linked to your home or tenancy, including repairs, maintenance, tenancy questions, anti social behaviour concerns, or general support and advice.
You will meet your Neighbourhood Officer, who is there to listen, help, and point you in the right direction if extra support is needed. Some sessions also focus on specific topics such as anti social behaviour or housing support, with Neighbourhood Safety Officers and local Police Community Support Officers joining us.
Together, walkabouts and Community Hubs give you more choice and more ways to engage with us in your community.
If there’s something in your neighbourhood you would like us to look at, a walkabout or Community Hub is a great time to speak to us in person.
