Residents in Halton Lodge benefited from a successful Spruce Up Your Streets environmental improvement day on last Friday (14th August), delivered by a brilliant team from Halton Housing, in partnership with Halton Borough Council.

The event formed part of our ongoing commitment to creating cleaner, safer neighbourhoods and supporting customers to take pride in their communities. By working together with residents and partners, the day delivered visible environmental improvements across the area.

Throughout the event, more than 80 residents and customers made use of the skips provided, helping to remove unwanted waste and bulky items from their homes and gardens.

The impact of the day was significant:

- 2 x 20-yard skips were filled to capacity
- The equivalent of an additional 8-yard skip of metal was collected separately for recycling
- Halton Housing colleagues contributed a total of 45 volunteering hours
- Halton Borough Council attended and supported the event throughout the day
- Halton Housing's Environmental Services Team removed a further 1,220kg of fly-tipping and bulky waste using caged vans

Colleagues were stationed throughout the area during the event, helping residents, monitoring the skips andmaking sure everything ran smoothly. There were even some smiles along the way!

Events like these play an important role in improving local communities, reducing waste, tackling fly-tipping and helping residents dispose of unwanted items responsibly. They also provide an opportunity for partners and the community to work together towards a shared goal of creating cleaner, greener places to live.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event, including Halton Borough Council, Halton Housing colleagues who volunteered their time, and the many residents who took part.

Together, we've taken another positive step towards creating cleaner, greener and more welcoming neighbourhoods for everyone. Check out the amazing before and after pictures 👇🏻
