Did you know that the use of petrol and diesel road vehicles were the main source of the 27% of emissions in the UK’s transport sector in 2019? Unfortunately, many of us rely on these types of vehicles and are likely to for at least the next 5 to 10 years. In the meantime, rethinking how we travel is the next best step we can take to reduce our carbon footprint.

Action you can take:

  • Review your journey – is it necessary?

  • Use a different way travel such as car sharing, using public transport, walking, or cycling.

  • If you need to use your car, learn to drive more efficiently

  • Use video calls to catch up with friends, family and work colleagues.

  • Enjoy the beautiful British landscape for a staycation instead of flying abroad.

Explore more ways to travel more sustainably and remember to share your good ideas on greener ways to travel with family, friends and colleagues.
