Following the success of previous Spruce Up Your Streets improvement works in the Kingsway Backlands, we're returning to the area to continue enhancing this important community space as part of our Destination Kingsway programme.

On Friday 11 September, from 10am to 3pm, we'll be carrying out environmental improvement works in the backland area between Wavertree Road, Mottershead Road, Sinclair Avenue and Kingsway.

The project will focus on removing old timber sleepers and other debris, clearing overgrown vegetation, and carrying out general environmental improvements to help make the area cleaner, greener and more welcoming for local residents.

Our previous work in the Kingsway Backlands delivered significant improvements to the area, including extensive waste clearance, pathway enhancements and new planting. By revisiting the site, we're building on those successes and continuing our commitment to the long-term regeneration of neighbourhood spaces.

Please be aware that heavy machinery, including a digger, will be operating throughout the day. For health and safety reasons, this is not a volunteer event, and access to some parts of the area may be restricted while work is taking place.

Residents are welcome to stop by and see the improvements as they progress throughout the day.
