Health, wellbeing and money
“I feel so relieved I don’t need to fear the postman anymore!”
This is a quote I recall from my very early days doing this job and really helped me understand the impact debt problems have on health and wellbeing. Fearing what final demands and letters the daily post brings highlights the ways debts can add stress, worry, and anxiety into everyday life. Talking really does help though!
I have never met a person where I couldn’t help with problems debts, supporting that phone call, letter or email, helping them open the pile of post hidden in a kitchen draw and even speaking with bailiffs at the doors. The going may be tough, challenging how you have been spending hard-earned money or balancing a less than generous benefit income is hard but in the end, it is worth it.
You may fall off the savings wagon but knowing how to get back on and re-balance a budget is a key to improving your own wellbeing. Robbing Peter to pay Paul every month is tough but reaching out and asking for help does feel good!
