We re-invest 100% of our surpluses into Halton Housing to continue to improve services we provide for you, the homes that you live in and the places where you live. We aim to provide good 'value for money' for the rent that you pay.
For 2026 - 2027, rent will increase by 4.8% (CPI + 1%) for all tenancy types and 5.0% (RPI + ½%) for shared ownership built pre 12th October 2023). This is in accordance with government rent setting policies and uses CPI / RPI as reported in September 2025.
This increase will take affect from 6th April 2026 if your rent is charged weekly or 1st April 2026 if your rent is charge monthly.
Despite the increase, our rents remain amongst the lowest in Halton and the Northwest of England.
