If you know any of our Halton Housing teams, or perhaps a friend or family member works for us then you’ll know that helping people in our communities is a real passion of ours. So, hearing that our local foodbanks were running low on much-needed supplies, our colleagues sprang into action.

Organised by Amy and Georgina (our Customer engagement team), donation stations were set up in and around our head office in Widnes, Waterfront Point and our 330 colleagues were encouraged to pick up an extra item or two when doing their weekly shop to add to the collection.

Boxes and boxes of the essential items were soon filled to the brim and donated to the two local foodbanks in Widnes and Runcorn who, like many local business and residents, we have helped to support throughout the year.

As well as the much-needed food supplies, we were also delighted to donate £1000 each to the Widnes and Runcorn foodbanks. This follows the £875 donation which was made to the charities in July. Local foodbanks rely heavily on donations from the community so we hope this money will go far in helping local residents and their families.

If you would like to make a donation to a local foodbank, or if you need their support, you can find more details on their website here: https://www.widnesfoodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food
