Over 350 people enjoyed a fantastic Halloween fun day on Saturday 29th October in Grange Community Centre, as part of our Destination Grange Programme

We were delighted to bring back the annual event which we have supported for several years, following a break due to Covid – much to the delight of local families.

Both entry and entertainment were free, and the event was bursting with attractions including, bouncy castles, arts and crafts, stalls, food and drink, tombola, a fancy dress competition, and face painting.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Halton, Cllr Mark Dennett & Andrea Dennett also attended and judged the popular fancy dress competition, commenting later in the day on Twitter about what a fantastic event it was.

The fun day was also an opportunity for residents to find out more about the activities and events which regularly take place at the centre – an issue that was highlighted in our recent Destination Grange survey. Responses showed that many children in Grange do not use the community centre, despite its offering.

The Halloween event also gave residents the opportunity to sign up to the various clubs, and Youth Hub operated by Power in Partnership (PIP) which take place at the centre including Karate and dance classes; resulting in several children signing up.

We were so pleased to see so many families from our community come along to join in the fun. Not only was the day a great opportunity to meet the neighbours, but it was also a chance for residents to get to know our colleagues a bit better too. Members of our Neighbourhoods and Engagement Teams were present throughout the day, both to support the event and offer advice.

Amy Harrison, Halton Housing Customer Engagement Officer who helped organised the day said: “This is a day to bring the community together and allow parents bring their children to have a fantastic time, without it costing a fortune. Thank you to everyone who attended and to all our small business stalls who came along to sell their lovely products. We hope everyone enjoyed the day and will continue to support Grange Community Centre.”
