Liz Haworth, Group Chief Executive at Halton Housing has announced her intention to retire from her role in the Autumn of 2022 after 3 years at the helm.

Joining Halton Housing in July 2019, Liz has been the driving force behind our place-shaping strategy making a huge impact across the neighbourhoods we serve, leading a strong and passionate team whose focus has firmly been on delivering services to customers, and improving their lives.

Commenting on her decision to retire, Liz says,

“It has been an immense privilege to have worked with so many committed and hard-working people to develop our strategic plans and build the culture of the organisation into what it is today. I have been proud to be part of Halton Housing and I know I leave it in an extremely strong position.

My successor has strong foundations on which to build. We have sound finances, clear plans in place for the future, an innovative edge, and we enjoy a good reputation within the sector. I am confident the Board will find someone who is determined to protect and strengthen our customer-focussed approach and deliver the ambitions set out in our new corporate plan.

My decision to retire from housing is very much a personal one and I’m looking forward to enjoying a healthy and active retirement.”

Clive Deadman, chair of the Halton Housing Board says,

“I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Liz for her leadership during these past 3 years and for her contribution in taking Halton Housing from strength to strength. Whilst the past 2 years have been extremely challenging for the housing sector, Liz’s dedication and vision has ensured that she leaves Halton Housing in the best possible position as we launch our new 3-year corporate strategy.

Our search for Liz’s successor is underway and we are looking forward to finding our next chief executive to continue to build on Halton Housing’s strong performance and ambition.”

Liz will continue to lead the Group in the coming months and support the transition pending the appointment of a new Chief Executive.

Halton Housing is an innovative housing provider, with over 7,000 homes across Cheshire and the Northwest.
