Over 500 daffodil bulbs have been planted in Upton as part of our Destination Upton programme, thanks to a bunch of little green fingers from All Saints Primary School.

The planting is a great way to bring colour and beauty to the area in Spring, enhancing the open and green space in the neighbourhood. The bulbs have been planted at the back of Brookdale Flats and in Dovedale Court.

All the children got involved and enjoyed planting the bulbs, and was the perfect way to learn planting skills and get muddy fingers, whilst creating a bright, beautiful spot for the community to enjoy.

Georgina Crank, Social Impact and Engagement Officer said: “This was a really special afternoon and it was great to see so many smiling faces throughout the day. Once the daffodils begin to bloom next spring, the children will be able to see the results of their hard work and feel very proud of themselves, so a big thank you to everyone at the school who made this happen. Community initiatives like this are a perfect example of how great things can be achieved when everyone mucks in, and we couldn't be prouder of our little helpers today..”

Thanks for helping us – we can’t wait to see the daffodils bloom next spring!
