Our school uniform support scheme has once again had a huge impact - this year helping 180 families prepare for the new school term.

With the continued pressure of the cost of living, many families find it difficult when it comes to buying essential items like school uniforms. The scheme aims to ease that burden and make sure children can return to school feeling confident and equipped.

Thanks to £10,000 in funding support from Halton Housing and Travis Perkins Managed Services, families received an average of £53 each towards the cost of school uniforms, which can total up to £300 per child, according to parent surveys.

The scheme proved hugely popular, with overwhelming demand within just hours of going live. Unfortunately, due to limited funding, the application form had to be closed early, meaning many families sadly missed out.

Claire Creed, Welfare Benefit and Money Advice Manager, said:

“We were blown away by the response this year. The demand was immediate and intense, showing just how vital this support is for families in our community. We’re proud to have helped so many, and we’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from Travis Perkins Managed Services.”
