Your Home Survey helps us understand the condition of your home and plan future improvements. It helps us identify work that may be needed in the medium and longer term.

During the visit, a surveyor assesses key parts of the property, such as the kitchen, bathroom, heating system, windows and doors. A typical survey takes around 40 minutes. We aim to survey each home at least once every five years, with advance notice of appointments.

Our surveys usually take place Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 4.30pm. If you would like to arrange an appointment or discuss your circumstances, please call our Service Support Team on 0333 004 5088.

About our survey programme

We aim to survey approximately 20% of our homes each year — around 1,450 properties — to help keep our information up to date and plan future investment. 

Making surveys accessible

We understand that arranging access to your home is not always straightforward. If you have accessibility requirements, support needs or other circumstances that could affect your appointment, please tell us. We will work with you to make suitable arrangements wherever possible.

Frequently asked questions

Will my kitchen or bathroom be replaced as soon as it reaches its typical lifespan?

Not necessarily. We look at its condition and functionality, as well as its age, before deciding what work is needed.

Does a Home Survey mean improvement work will happen straight away?

No. The survey helps us plan future investment. We will contact you separately if your home is included in a programme of work.

Can I request a replacement kitchen or bathroom?

If you have concerns about the condition of your kitchen or bathroom, please contact us. We can review the information we hold about your home and advise you on the next steps. Replacements are prioritised based on condition and need rather than age alone.

What happens if I cannot provide access for a Home Survey?

Please contact us if you cannot attend your appointment or need additional support. We will work with you to arrange a suitable alternative wherever possible.
