Widnes Family Hubs – Baby’s First Christmas & Breakfast with Santa
About Widnes Family Hubs
Widnes Family Hubs provide vital support to families across Halton, offering services that help parents navigate the challenges of raising children. With three main hubs and two satellite sites, they deliver everything from antenatal care to teen parenting sessions, through both universal and targeted Early Help offers.
Their mission is to ensure every family has access to the support they need — whether it’s guidance on parenting, help with housing or finances, or simply a safe space to connect and grow.
The Project: Baby’s First Christmas & Breakfast with Santa
With support from Halton Housing’s 20 for 20 campaign, Widnes Family Hubs will host two festive events: Baby’s First Christmas and Breakfast with Santa. These activities will be completely free for families, helping to ensure that no child misses out on the magic of the season due to financial hardship.
The funding will be used to purchase resources and materials that allow families to take part in festive crafts, enjoy a warm breakfast, and meet Santa — creating joyful memories and a sense of community.
Community Impact
The events will accommodate up to 155 babies and children, with a focus on families with children aged 0–5 years living in Widnes. Many of these families will be identified by Family Hub staff as those who would benefit most, including Halton Housing customers.
By removing financial barriers, these events promote inclusion, wellbeing, and connection, offering families a chance to celebrate together in a warm and welcoming environment.
Working Together with Halton Housing
Widnes Family Hubs are keen to collaborate with Halton Housing to identify families who would benefit from these festive events. They also hope to explore future joint initiatives that support families in need — combining resources and expertise to make a lasting impact.
