Estate Services Lead Operative Keiron Gordon took to the streets of Upton in an industrial street sweep earlier this week as part of a trial of the service and under our Destination Upton programme.

Battling the wind and rain, Keiron and his trusty new machine hit the streets of Bechers, Brookdale, Afton, Arley Drive, Deepdale and all the major footpaths, sweeping up leaves and litter as they went.

The task couldn’t have been better suited to a colleague than Keiron given his passion for keeping our community looking ship shape, and looking at these pictures, it’s clear to see he did a great job!

An instantly recognisable member and volunteer in his hometown, Widnes, Keiron, spends much of his spare time litter picking, emptying overflowing street bins, running campaigns, raising awareness, and reporting issues to improve the environment. Several years ago Keiron even became a Keep Britain Tidy litter hero ambassador, a role which he takes great pride in.

Destination Upton is part of our overall Destination programme aimed at creating lasting improvements, bringing communities together and creating opportunities for customers and has so far included a series of successful Spruce up Your Streets events, an action packed fun day and a fun-filled bulb planting event in partnership with All Saints Primary School.
