After the success of last year’s ‘Halton2Halton’ Big Team Challenge, which saw us walk virtually to Halton Australia, our colleagues are taking on a new challenge to reach Halton in Ontario, Canada.

We’re creating some healthy competition between colleagues to see who can get the most steps in, the longest cycle rides or miles running.

The virtual challenge is also helping provide a fun and engaging way for colleagues to stay active, connected and motivated at a time when mental health and well-being has become increasingly important.

This year’s walk sees us head east across Cheshire and down to London, before heading across the English Channel and reaching Holland. From there we will walk across Eastern Europe. We will then head across Russia, hopefully taking in the sights of Moscow, before trekking all the way through Alaska. We’ll then follow the US/Canadian border before our final push as we head down to Ontario.

Challenge organiser and Organisational Development Officer, Karen Lopez said:

"This collective challenge was aimed at getting active and putting our daily exercise to good use by working towards a common goal that we could all celebrate together when we got there! It was really motivating – we’ve even got families and pets joining in too to really create a sense of fun and involvement.”

Upon completion of the challenge, we will make a donation to a local charity.

Look out for updates on our social media over the coming days and weeks as we make the 24,301.2km journey.
