Halton Housing Launches New Customer Committee to Put Residents at the Heart of Decision-Making
At Halton Housing, we’re entering an exciting new chapter—and we want you to be part of it.
We’re proud to launch one of our most significant customer involvement opportunities to date: a brand-new Customer Committee, designed to give customers a stronger voice and greater influence than ever before.
This dedicated group will help shape service standards, monitor performance, and ensure that customer feedback isn’t just heard—it’s acted upon. The Customer Committee will provide a formal and structured way for customers to challenge, influence, and hold us accountable.
Earlier this year, we partnered with TPAS (Tenants Participation Advisory Service) to consult directly with customers about how we engage with them. One of the key suggestions was the creation of a Customer Committee—and we’re thrilled to bring that idea to life. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in those sessions; your feedback has helped shape this exciting new direction.
We’re now looking for six passionate customers to join the committee and represent the wider customer voice. As a member, you’ll:
- Play a key role in influencing how we work
- Report directly to our Board
- Help drive meaningful change across our services
The committee will be chaired by Sharon Pennington, a member of Halton Housing’s Board, who shared:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for customers to be at the heart of decision-making. The Customer Committee will ensure that lived experience and local insight directly shape how we deliver services. I’m proud to be chairing this group and look forward to working alongside our members to make a real difference.”
As part of this change, the existing Customer Forum and Scrutiny Panels will disband in their current form and be replaced by the new Customer Committee.
Members will serve a three-year term, with a time commitment of around half a day per month. In recognition of your contribution, each member will receive £3,000 per year.
Applications are open to Halton Housing customers living in general needs housing, supported housing, leasehold, or shared ownership homes.
