Joiner Conquers the Lakeland 50 in Support of Halton Haven Hospice

On Saturday 26th July, Rich Rayner, one of our dedicated joiners at Halton Housing, took on one of the UK’s toughest endurance challenges — The Lakeland 50 — and completed it in an incredible 14 hours and 39 minutes.
Spanning almost double the distance of a marathon and featuring over 3,000 metres of ascent across rugged, unforgiving terrain, the Lakeland 50 is a true test of physical and mental strength. Rich’s determination, resilience, and grit carried him through every mile — and he crossed the finish line with not only an impressive time, but also an inspiring cause.
Rich undertook this monumental challenge to raise vital funds for Halton Haven Hospice, a local charity close to many hearts. The hospice, our nominated charity for 2025/26, provides compassionate care and support to individuals and families across our community.
His efforts have already made a huge impact — but there’s still time to help him reach his fundraising goal.
💜 Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference to the lives of those cared for by Halton Haven Hospice.
