VIBE is set to launch a new youth engagement offer in Kingsway and Stewards Avenue area, after our Destination Kingsway/Stewards survey in autumn highlighted a clear need for dedicated support for local young people. 

As part of the programme, we've commissioned VIBE to deliver weekly mobile youth sessions using their fully equipped youth bus. Recent figures from both the Area Profile and the Destination Kingsway/Stewards Survey played a key role in shaping this decision. 

The data shows that 52% of Kingsway residents and 74% of Stewards residents have experienced anti social behaviour in the area - with many linking incidents to issues involving young people. Residents also identified youth outreach programmes as the most effective way to reduce ASB across both neighbourhoods. 

Families echoed these findings. With 57% of survey respondents reporting that they have children under 18 living at home, the community’s strongest request was for more activities and outdoor events for young people. 

In response, we've partnered with Vibe to bring youth provision directly into the heart of the community, particularly in locations where access to youth facilities is limited. 

The mobile youth bus offers a flexible, responsive way to meet young people where they are, providing a safe and welcoming space for connection and support. Over the coming months, the youth bus will be used to:

• Deliver pop up sessions in local hotspot areas]
• Provide a safe, informal space for young people
• Respond quickly to emerging issues within the community
• Offer activities, mentoring, guidance and information 

This approach is especially effective at reaching young people who may not usually attend centre based youth provision, helping to build trust, confidence, and a positive presence in the community. 

The mobile bus sessions officially launch on Wednesday 4th March from 6-8pm with weekly sessions taking place every following Wednesday evening in Kingsway and Stewards at the same time.

Our funding covers all sessions throughout March and April, but thanks to a successful Halton Youth Grant, Vibe will continue running the mobile youth service throughout the 2026/27 financial year, ensuring young people in Kingsway and Stewards have ongoing access to positive activities and support. 

We look forward to working closely with Vibe to create opportunities like this for local young people, strengthening community relationships, and helping to address the issues residents have highlighted.
