Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship?

After finishing college, I was unsure what I wanted to do, I decided an apprenticeship would be the best thing for me as I could earn money, and get experience and a qualification out of it.

What you do in a typical day/week?

My typical day involves things like maintaining the fleet (the vans) making sure the MOTs are booked in and all up to date, managing and maintaining the upkeep of the office and maintenance of the estate blocks and their communal areas. I also attend college once every fortnight to get my Business Admin qualification.

What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?

I love being able to engage with new people every day and learn from each one of them. I love the contemporary style of the office and how no two days are the same.

What skills have you developed so far during your apprenticeship?

I have developed many transferable skills such as good communication, teamwork, organisational skills and I have really developed my skills working on Excel spreadsheets.

Why did you choose Halton Housing?

The culture at Halton Housing really stood out to me when researching the organisation and I was drawn to the people-centric approach. Halton Housing provides great opportunities and I knew straight away I wanted to get involved.

What would you say to someone considering applying for an apprenticeship?

Definitely do it, it's the best opportunity to start a career! You can earn money whilst learning and receiving a qualification but also get the valuable support of working alongside experienced staff
