Raj and Anika have lived in their home for a long time and raised three children in it. They have now all left home and it was becoming too big for them and they were struggling to pay their rent.

Our Welfare Benefits and Money Advice Team were able to apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) to help with arrears.

Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) can provide extra money when your council decides that you need extra help to meet your housing costs.

Raj and Anika are now looking for a mutual exchange to a much smaller property they can afford.  Our Team were also able to help claim disability payments to top up the low wages as ill-health had forced them to reduce the hours they could work.
