School Uniform Support | Halton Housing

Even though school isn't out for the summer yet, we understand that preparing for the new school year in September can be stressful for parents, especially with the rising costs of school uniforms.

Thanks to funding support from Travis Perkins we are able to provide customers with financial support for buying uniforms.

The scheme is open to customers living in a Halton Housing home, with school age children and on a low income.

Last year's uniform scheme was a huge success, which saw over 230 school children from low-income families across Halton benefit from money towards uniforms.

The scheme will open for applications at 10:00am on Thursday 5th June 2025. Please return to this page at that time to complete the application form.

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

Financial Responsibility: You must be financially responsible for a school-aged child between 4 and 16 years old and receive Child Benefit for them.

AND

Income: Applicants must have a low income, defined as a net household income of no more than £26,000 per year (£2,166.67 per month).

You must be in receipt of means-tested benefits, which include:

Universal Credit
Housing Benefit
Child and/or Working Tax Credits
Pension Credit
Means-tested Job Seekers Allowance
Means-tested Employment and Support Allowance
Income Support

The school uniform support scheme is discretionary, meaning that awards are made based on individual circumstances and the judgment of Halton Housing's Welfare Benefit and Money Advice team. All application decisions are final, and there is no right of appeal.

We reserve the right to close applications early if we receive a high volume of applications.
