Saving Water, Saving Money

Every drop counts – and together, we can make a real difference.
By using water wisely, we not only help protect the environment but also keep our household bills lower.

In our homes, we install features such as:

  • Smaller toilet cisterns – using less water with every flush.
  • Low-flow taps and showers – maintaining good water pressure while using significantly less water.

But that’s just the beginning. Here are more simple ways we can all save water:

  • Fix dripping taps and leaky loos – a dripping tap can waste over 1,400 litres a year, and a leaking toilet up to 400 litres a day.
  • Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth – this can save around 6 litres per minute.
  • Use a washing-up bowl – instead of letting the tap run while doing dishes.
  • Install tap aerators – these reduce flow without affecting performance.
  • Choose water-efficient appliances – look for the Water Efficient Product Label when buying dishwashers or washing machines.
  • Take shorter showers – even one minute less per person can save litres of water and reduce energy bills.
  • Collect rainwater – using a water butt in the garden can save thousands of litres a year.
  • Water plants with a can, not a hose – and do it early morning or late evening to reduce evaporation.
  • Reuse water – for example, from rinsing vegetables or waiting for the shower to heat up.

These small changes add up. They not only reduce wasted water but also cut down on the energy needed to heat it – helping to lower both costs and carbon emissions.

Together, we can build a future where our homes are more affordable, sustainable, and better for the planet.
