To celebrate, we’re proud to launch 20 for 20, a one-off community initiative that gives back to the people and places that have shaped our journey.
We’re awarding £1,000 each to 20 inspiring community projects or initiatives that are making a real difference in Halton. Whether it’s a grassroots group, a local charity, or a neighbourhood initiative, we want to hear from those who are helping build stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.
This initiative reflects our purpose — Improving People’s Lives — and supports the priorities in our corporate plan, Our Future Focus 25–28.
We’re looking for applications from groups and organisations whose work aligns with one or more of the following themes:
Projects that enhance the physical or social environment of a local area. This could include:
Activities that promote physical, mental, or emotional health, such as:
Support for individuals seeking work or wanting to improve their skills, including:
Projects that empower and engage younger generations, such as:
Initiatives that help people feel connected and valued in their communities, including:
Efforts to bridge the digital divide and help people thrive online, such as:
Projects that offer direct support to those facing financial or social challenges, including:
We’re open to innovative or unique proposals that don’t fit neatly into the categories above but still make a meaningful difference. If your idea strengthens community resilience, wellbeing, or opportunity, we’d love to hear about it.

❌ Paying for direct employee costs
❌ Commercial organisations
❌ Activities that promote a political agenda (However, we welcome projects that support Equality & Diversity within the Community Cohesion theme)
❌ Retrospective funding (i.e. projects already completed, whether or not paid for)
❌ Groups supported by our Helping Hands Fund in the past 12 calendar months
❌ Sponsorship of sports kits
❌ Applications in excess of £1,000
Our 20 for 20 initiative is discretionary, meaning awards are based on the information provided in your application and the judgment of our panel. All decisions are final, and there is no right of appeal.
